Part of FLX Trucking

When a truck goes down, you make one call.

FLX Fleet is the maintenance department a small carrier can’t afford to hire. We find the shop, read the estimate before anyone turns a wrench, and hold the bill to what was agreed.

Tickets taken on

We take tickets on Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Mack, Western Star, Detroit DD15, Cummins X15, Paccar MX-13 and other US highway equipment.

The math

A parked truck doesn’t stop costing money. It just stops earning it.

You already know this part. It's worth putting numbers on it, because the numbers are what make a maintenance desk cheap.

per truck, per day down

$448–760

Industry average for a truck that isn't moving. Carry a payment and insurance on a single unit and it lands closer to $1,300.

average unplanned breakdown

2.3 days

And 8.7 days a year per truck. That is a week and a half of revenue you already budgeted for.

after-hours shop labor

$225–300/hr

1.5× to 2× the daytime rate. The same repair costs less on a Tuesday morning than at 11pm on a Saturday.

And then there's the bill

Half of vehicle owners say a shop has tried to sell them a repair they didn’t need. A third say they were overcharged on parts or labor.

At 2am, 900 miles from home, with a driver who wants to sleep and a load that has to deliver, nobody is reading that estimate line by line. That is the whole reason this service exists.

Figures above are published 2026 industry averages for US Class 8 equipment and consumer repair surveys, not FLX Fleet results.

What we do

Eight jobs you're doing between loads. We take all of them.

We don't own a shop, a tow truck or a parts counter. We own the phone calls — which is the part that actually costs you money.

One number, 24/7, answered by a person

Your driver stops calling shops off Google at midnight. He calls us, tells us what the truck is doing, and goes to sleep.

  • Triage over the phone before anyone is dispatched
  • Tow and roadside arranged if the unit can't move
  • Driver's hours, hotel and next-load timing accounted for
  • You get the ticket in Telegram or SMS, not a portal login

How it works

Four steps, and three of them aren't yours

The whole point is that your day doesn't change. You make one call and go back to running the business.

Step 01

You call. Or the driver does.

One number, day or night, holiday or not. No ticket portal, no app to install, no menu to sit through.

Step 02

We open a ticket.

Unit, location, symptom, load, deadline. You get it in writing in the channel you already use.

Step 03

We work the phones.

Shops, tow, parts, warranty, the estimate. You get updates as they land — not homework.

Step 04

You approve. We hold the line.

Nothing gets authorized without your yes, and the final invoice matches the yes you gave.

Who it's for

Built for the carriers nobody built this for

Managed maintenance has existed for decades — for fleets of 200. Under ten trucks, you were expected to figure it out at the roadside.

One truck

You are the driver, the dispatcher and the shop manager

There is no version of this where you do all four jobs well. Maintenance is the one you can hand off without giving up a single decision — every approval still goes through you.

  • Sleep through a breakdown instead of working it
  • Stop paying the after-hours premium for bad timing
  • A service history that follows the unit to resale
2–10 trucks

Big enough that something is always broken

Too small to put a maintenance manager on payroll. Large fleets solved this years ago with a national vendor program and a full-time coordinator. This is that, rented by the truck.

  • One desk covering every unit instead of whoever picks up
  • PM schedules that survive a driver quitting
  • Cost per unit, per month, in writing
Coverage

Lower 48, one number

We work the corridors your trucks actually run. Every ticket below is a sample built from the kind of call the desk takes — not a customer story.

I-5 · Bakersfield, CA

Unit

Volvo VNL · 2020

Reported

Regen loop, derate to 5 mph on the grade

Quote went from a replacement to a sensor

What the desk did

Shop quoted a full aftertreatment replacement. We pulled the fault history first — it was a pressure sensor and a forced regen.

Pricing

Flat, per truck, per month

Never a percentage of your repair spend. A service that earns more when your bills grow is not on your side of the table.

FAQ
Do you own the shops you send trucks to?

No, and we never will. We have no financial relationship with any shop, tow operator or parts supplier. That is the only condition under which our reading of your estimate is worth anything.

My driver is already at a shop with a quote. Too late?

Call us anyway. Reading a quote before you authorize it is the single highest-value thing we do, and it takes minutes. We've had first conversations start exactly that way.

How fast does someone actually answer?

A person picks up, 24/7, including nights and holidays. If every line is busy you get a callback, not a voicemail box.

Who pays the shop?

You do, directly, at the shop's price. We never handle your money, never float a repair and never send you an invoice with someone else's work inside it. Our fee is separate and flat.

Do I need an ELD or telematics integration?

It helps — fault codes and mileage make PM scheduling sharper — but it is not required. Plenty of tickets start with a driver describing a noise.

What if you can't find a shop?

Then we tell you that instead of stalling, and we work the alternatives: mobile mechanic, tow to the next town, or holding the unit until a bay opens. You'll always know which one we're on.

Is there a contract?

Month to month. No setup fee, no minimum term, no minimum number of trucks. If it isn't earning its fee, cancel it.

Are you the same company as FLX Trucking?

Same group, different service. FLX Trucking does dispatch; FLX Fleet does maintenance. You can use either one on its own — nothing here requires you to move your dispatch.

Desk is open

If a truck is down right now, call. Don’t fill in a form.

The form is for everything else: how this would work on your units, what it costs for your fleet size, whether it’s worth it at all. No pitch deck, no contract to look at us.
